Accompany people in the search for the family of origin

You are adopted and looking for your family of origin? Then you can get advice from the local youth welfare office or the adoption agency. Members of the family of origin also receive support in the search for the whereabouts of an adopted child.

Adoptive children have a right to know about their own parentage. The adoptive parents can also inspect the files until the child reaches the age of majority.

The adoption agency that arranged the adoption accompanies the inspection of files in all cases. Accessible is the information on the origin and life history of the adoptee or the adoptee. This means that one cannot read through the entire file.

Files on adoption placements are kept for 100 years from the birth of the child. Adoption files are kept by the youth welfare office that placed the adoption. Adoptive children and their families are also accompanied by specialists from the adoption agency during the search for the birth parents.

If you wish, you can also receive anonymous counseling for the first time.
