Apply for a change of the competent aviation authority for a foreign pilot license from an EASA member state

• You submit an application for a change of responsibility to us.
• We will initiate the transfer with your previous aviation authority.
• As soon as the medical data has been transferred to the Federal Aviation Authority and we have received a license verification, we will issue you with a new pilot license.

After the application has been submitted, the Bremen Aviation Authority requests the previously responsible authority of the license holder to send a confirmation (verification) of the current license data by e-mail. The confirmation is to be sent by e-mail in the form of ICAO document 155 by the competent aviation authority.

It is also necessary for the medical reports (aeromedical data) to be submitted to the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) by the previously responsible authority. The state aviation authorities are not responsible for aviation medicine. The LBA will therefore take over the examination and administration of the aeromedical data.

For this purpose, copies of the medical reports must be sent to the LBA by the competent authority. The transmission is carried out in accordance with Annex IV (Part-MED) MED.A.015. The reports must contain a summary of the relevant medical history, checked and signed by the medical expert.

Once the application has been submitted, communication takes place between the authorities involved.
