Apply for an electronic health professional card (eHBA) as a person in a healthcare profession


If you would like to gain access to the telematics infrastructure (TI) in the healthcare sector, you will need an electronic healthcare professional card (eHBA) if you work in a healthcare profession.

The electronic health professional card (eHBA) is a chip card for the personal authentication of persons in healthcare professions. The eHBA gives you access to the telematics infrastructure (TI). The TI networks all those involved in the healthcare system and will enable access to the electronic patient file (ePA) in the future, for example.

There are different eHBAs for different professional groups. There is an eHBA for:

  • Doctors
  • Persons in healthcare professions
  • Pharmacists and pharmacists

You can use this online service to apply for an eHBA as a non-registered person in a healthcare profession. This includes:

  • Healthcare professionals
  • Nurses and nurses
  • Nurses for the elderly
  • midwives
  • Physiotherapists and physiotherapists
  • Emergency paramedics

To obtain the eHBA, you must first register in the electronic healthcare professional register (eGBR). You then apply for the eHBA from a trust service provider (VDA). The VDAs charge an annual fee, which can vary from VDA to VDA.

Requirements

  • You must present a professional license.
  • You must pay the administrative fee.
