Applying for an extension of the preliminary building permit


If you have a valid preliminary building permit for your building project, you can apply for a one-off extension of the preliminary building permit by 2 years.

If you have a valid preliminary building permit for your building project, you can apply for a one-off extension of the preliminary building permit by 2 years from the responsible lower building supervisory authority in accordance with § 75 sentence 3 of the Bremen State Building Regulations if the legal requirements have not changed in the meantime and the application has been received by the lower building supervisory authority before the deadline expires.

The extension must be applied for before the deadline expires.

The extension of the preliminary building permit is subject to a fee.

Requirements

Prerequisites for a one-time extension of 2 years are

  • the submission of a valid preliminary building permit
  • Compliance with the extension period of 3 years since the issue of the preliminary building permit,
  • the documents submitted in accordance with § 5 of the Bremen Building Submission Ordinance remain valid,
  • the legal requirements have not changed in the meantime and
  • the application was received by the lower building supervisory authority before the deadline expired.
