Import of food, feed and products of animal origin

The border inspection posts in Bremerhaven, Bremen and Cuxhaven are responsible for the import control of food and feed of animal and non-animal origin from third countries (countries outside the European Union).
Once import controls have been carried out, the consignments can be cleared through customs and are then freely tradable in the EU. They are not subject to any further controls.
