Import of food, feed and products of animal origin

Procedure

Registration of third country consignments with GGED P / GGED D , BL (Bill of Lading) as well as a valid health certificate and, if applicable, laboratory results
A document check and, depending on the product, a presentation for identity check and goods inspection takes place. The results are recorded in the GGED P / GGED D and a decision is made on import eligibility (import permit, import under certain conditions, rejection)

Special provisions for personal travel: The import of foodstuffs of animal origin from countries outside the EU is largely prohibited.
The border inspection posts in Bremen, Bremerhaven and Cuxhafen are not authorized for the clearance of live animals from third countries. There is also no border inspection post at Bremen Airport.
