Change of residence (sole, main or secondary residence)

Anyone moving within Bremen must re-register at the registration office within two weeks of moving in.

From 01.01.2023 to 31.03.2023, apartment registrations and apartment re-registrations are also possible in writing. Please use the forms provided in the service descriptions "Residence registration" and "Residence re-registration". Please note that your registration/renegistration is required by 02.04.2023 in order to be able to vote on May 14.

The re-registration must take place within two weeks after moving into the (new) apartment at one of the BürgerService facilities of the Bürgeramt. An adult family member can re-register the entire family. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient if you make an appointment with us in good time, even if this cannot take place until later.

What documents do I need?

  • Proof of identity

    e.g.: identity card or (child) passport

  • Form: Registration with a registration office
