Places are coveted for participation in Bremen's major folk festivals, the Freimarkt, Osterwiese and Weihnachtsmarkt. Timely registration is required.
Basic information
The open-air market takes place on Bürgerweide, Willy-Brandt-Platz, Bahnhofsvorplatz, Kastanienwäldchen, Grasmarkt and Marktplatz.
Opening hours:
- Bürgerweide:
- Sunday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to midnight
- market activity is allowed to "wind down" another half hour after the end of each day. - On the other squares:
- according to the respective opening hours of the stores
These industries are represented at the Bremen Freimarkt:
- Roller coasters
- Delivery warehouses, sign painters and the like, showmen's supply businesses
- Vending machine and grabber game shops
- bumper cars, go-cart tracks
- amusement and show shops
- stores selling goods for immediate consumption (e.g. snacks of all kinds, ice cream, fish, lard cakes)
- merry-go-rounds, ghost trains
- children's merry-go-rounds, floor merry-go-rounds, children's scooters, ship's swings, looping swings, snauferl, children's ship's swings
- Ferris wheels up to 250 sqm total area
- Ferris wheels over 250 sqm total area
- Railroads
- Shooting stores
- Gambling stores (slot machines, general gambling)
- other pubs with predominantly seated or stand-up pubs
- Toy, pottery and household goods sales
- Vending stores (incl. showman's supplies)
- Raffles
- Tent restaurants over 650 sqm
Requirements
- The application deadline is November 30 of the previous year
Applications must be submitted via the online portal (link under "Further information" - "Online service" - "Market application") or by post. The application form can be found under "Further information" - "Forms" - "Market application form".
- Late applications will not be considered and will not take part in the remaining space allocation procedure. Applications received by the deadline that were not included in the first selection will be considered for the remaining places.

- Dimensions of the shop (width x depth x height)
- nature of business
- Name and address (Internet address if applicable)
- Connected loads for light and power current
- Photo of the shop (by day and night)
- accurate quote
- Accessories (caravans, supply vehicles including their dimensions)
