Hand in metal waste for disposal


Have you cleared out your home and now need to dispose of metal? Distinguishing metal waste from electrical and car parts is sometimes not so easy. Find out what counts as metal waste and how to dispose of it here.

You can deliver and hand in metals free of charge at all recycling and green stations. Only items up to 2 meters in length will be accepted. Petrol lawn mowers must be free of any operating fluids (oil, petrol) before being handed in.

These are metals:

  • Bicycles, baby carriages, parts of shelves, clothes horse,
  • radiators, toolboxes,
  • candlesticks, cooking pots,
  • Pans and cutlery made of metal

These are not metals:

  • All types of electrical appliances, construction waste and rubble as well as parts of cars and motorcycles

Requirements

  • The delivery of waste and recyclable materials is only permitted with vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 tons.
  • The delivery of waste and recyclable materials must be sorted and free of harmful impurities and adhesions.
  • The metal comes from a private household in Bremen that is connected to the municipal waste disposal system.

What documents do I need?

  • Official proof of identity or fee notice (original)

    In justified cases, the joint presentation of the official proof of identity and the fee notice may be requested.

  • Declaration of waste origin

    Upon request, the deliverers must sign a declaration stating their name, address including telephone number and presenting official proof of identity, in which the exact private origin of the waste and/or recyclables is stated and confirmed.
