Does it cost money to apply for the Ehrenamtskarte?
No. The Ehrenamtskarte is available to everyone free of charge.

What do I do if I lose my volunteer card?
If you lose your card, please contact us at (04 21) 3 61 41 07 or via Email:buergerengagment@soziales.bremen.de.
We will then issue you a new card.

Is the Ehrenamtskarte automatically renewed or do I have to submit a new application after the card expires?
The honorary activity card expires after three years and can be reapplied for if all the necessary requirements are met. This is possible every 15.03. and 15.09. of a year.
Before the card expires, you will receive a new application by mail.

What falls under the term 'activity of general interest' ?
A public service activity is any activity for which no payment is made and which is performed at a recognized organization. This includes, for example: Volunteer firefighters, going shopping for the elderly, walking dogs, food distribution at food banks, etc.

How long is the Ehrenamtskarte valid?
The honorary activity card is valid for 3 years.
