Online - Re-registration without change of holder

Since 01.10.2017, it has been possible to recommission vehicles subject to registration to the same owner online as part of the 2nd stage i-Kfz. The Bremen registration authority provides an online portal for this purpose.

After a successful application, the registration authority issues the new registration certificate part I as well as the seal sticker(s) on sticker carrier(s) and sends the registration documents including the fee notice to the applicant. The sticker holder(s) must be affixed to the license plate(s) by the holder. Corresponding instructions are enclosed with the letter from the licensing authority.

In the event that the examination of the Internet-based application reveals that one of the registration requirements for re-registration is not met, the applicant will be informed of this on the screen and can correct it if necessary

Reserve a license plate:
If you would like to have a preferred license plate, you must do this via the link to "Internet-based vehicle registration". You can find the link under "Online Service" - "Online vehicle registration - i-Kfz" or via the "Complete online" button. This is the only way to generate the required PIN.

Requirements

• The applicant is a natural person and has an account for the collection of vehicle tax
  (online re-registration is not possible for legal entities for the time being)
• Payment of the fee using the ePayment system
• Internet-based issuing of a SEPA mandate for the collection of vehicle tax
  Note:
  a tax exemption/concession in accordance with Section 3a (1) or (2) KraftStG must be applied for separately from the customs authority
• there must be no motor vehicle tax arrears at the main customs office or fee arrears
• the vehicle has been taken out of service
• the license plate was reserved for the case of re-registration in the course of decommissioning and the reservation period has not yet expired at the time of application
