Online service Digital entry declaration

Entrants from high-risk areas will be required to carry a digital entry declaration since 08 November 2020.

If you enter Germany from abroad and have stayed in a risk area within 10 days prior to entry, you are generally obliged to go into quarantine for 10 days after entry. In order for the health authorities to be able to check compliance with the quarantine as well as the conditions of the state law exemptions from the quarantine obligation, you must fill out a Digital Entry Declaration.

You do not need to complete a Digital Entry Declaration in the following cases:

  • If you were only transiting through a risk area and did not have a stopover there,
  • if you are only entering the Federal Republic of Germany for transit purposes,
  • if you have stayed in a risk area for less than 24 hours in the context of border traffic with neighbouring countries or if you are entering the Federal Republic of Germany for up to 24 hours, or
  • if you are entering the Federal Republic of Germany for work-related reasons in order to transport persons, goods or merchandise across borders by road, rail, sea or air.
