Participate in the assessment of the spatial compatibility of spatially significant plans and measures

You can participate in ongoing spatial impact assessments.

In a spatial impact assessment, the responsible regional planning authority examines whether major spatially significant projects appear to be feasible in a spatially and environmentally compatible manner at the desired location. The spatial impact assessment concludes with an expert, non-binding opinion.

Such spatially significant projects include, among others

  • Wind farms
  • Mining of mineral resources, such as
    • coal or
    • ores
  • Road and rail construction
  • Natural gas transmission lines
  • High-voltage power lines

The state authority assesses the effects in the following areas in particular:

  • Society
  • Economy
  • infrastructure
  • environment

If a spatial planning authority assesses the spatial impact of a potential project, it makes this public.

As a citizen, company or representative of public interests, you can participate in an ongoing spatial impact assessment after the announcement by submitting a statement. You have at least one month to do so.

By participating, you can contribute to the assessment.
