Register at the adult school to obtain the Extended Vocational Training Entrance Qualification (ErwBBR)

The Extended Vocational Training Entrance Qualification (ErwBBR) is part of the adult school's educational program.

The Extended Vocational Education and Training Entrance Qualification is the basis for many training occupations in dual training (i.e. training in a company supplemented by attendance at a vocational school). It corresponds to the extended secondary school leaving certificate at the end of year 10.

Requirements

  • Reaching the age of 18 and fulfillment of compulsory full-time schooling according to § 54 of the Bremen School Act.
  • Complete application documents must be submitted by the deadline.
  • Successful participation in a language proficiency test (German language skills at 8th grade level are tested).
  • Proof of (even minor) employment of at least 6 months or current employment. The following can also be recognized: periods of unemployment, voluntary social/ecological year or running a "family household" (at least one child/one person in need of care belongs to the household), status as a refugee:r

What documents do I need?

  • Registration form
  • a curriculum vitae in tabular form with passport photo, date and signature
  • a current Bremen registration certificate or (in the case of primary residence in Lower Saxony) a declaration of exemption from the Lower Saxony state education authority
  • a copy of your passport or identity card
  • a certified copy of the highest educational qualification obtained to date or a certified copy of the leaving certificate
  • possibly copies of certificates as proof of language skills in German as a second language
  • Evidence of
    • current professional activity or
    • Working for at least 6 months or
    • Leading a family household with at least one child or
    • Periods of unemployment or
    • Status as a refugee or
    • Military or alternative service or
    • Voluntary social, ecological or cultural year
