Service Procedure

If you plan to remediate a contaminated site or harmful soil change, you must report this measure to the responsible soil protection authority.

Remediation measures

for the elimination or reduction of the pollutants (decontamination measures),
to prevent or reduce the spread of the pollutants in the long term without removing the pollutants (safeguards),
for the elimination or reduction of harmful changes in the physical, chemical or biological condition of the soil
must, under certain conditions, be notified to the authorities in writing as early as possible before they are carried out, in accordance with § 3 Paragraph 4 BremBodSchG. For this purpose, the Soil Protection Department of the Senator for Climate Protection, Environment, Mobility, Urban Development and Housing or the Environmental Protection Office at the Municipality of Bremerhaven is at your disposal.

Remediation measures must be reported if

they are not carried out by order of the competent authority (see §§ 10 and 16 of the Federal Soil Protection Act) or
they are not based on an official remediation plan (see § 13 Paragraph 1 of the Federal Soil Protection Act).
