Apply for an exemption permit for parking as a tradesperson or freelancer (resident parking areas)

For new applications and renewals:

• Please complete the online application.
• If you need a special permit for several of your vehicles, please enter the individual license plates in the "License plates" field.
• Only one exemption permit can be issued per company, association or institution.
• A confirmation of receipt will be sent once the online application has been received.
• If it is not possible for you to send us the required documents as file attachments, you can also send them by e-mail or post.
  
  • Please make sure that all your documents (number) can be clearly assigned to your application.
• If your documents have not reached us within 14 days of submitting your application, we will consider your application to be invalid.
  
  • In this case, you will not receive any further notification from us.
• After successful processing, you will receive the exemption permit by post.

If an exemption permit or parking card is lost, a loss report must be completed and sent by e-mail or post.

• For new applications and renewals:
  
  • Copy of the registration certificate part I (fully unfolded)
  • Current proof of the registered office of the company, association or institution (e.g. current extract from the trade register, rental agreement)
• In the event of a vehicle change/license plate change:
  
  • Please submit a copy of the new registration certificate Part I (fully unfolded) as well as the original exemption permit and green parking permit.
  • The documents can be submitted by post or placed in our in-house letterbox.
• For vehicle abandonment:
  
  • Please return the original exemption permit and the green parking permit to the Department of Roads and Traffic.

• Citizen portal for tradespeople/freelancers for parking in a resident parking area
  The citizen portal offers you the opportunity to submit your application for an exemption permit for tradespeople and freelancers online.
  The application can only be submitted if you are registered with BundID. Identification is based on the uploaded documents.
  You can attach supporting documents as PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG files to the application.

The amount of the administration fee depends on the requested duration and the number of vehicles.
11,50 EUR for the replacement exhibition.
11,50 EUR for the license plate change.

What deadlines must be paid attention to?

Due to the necessary checks required for this special permit, we request that the corresponding application is submitted at least 14 days in advance. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
14 days for the subsequent submission of documents.
The exemption permit is issued for a maximum of 1 year. An extension is possible.
