Applying for an exemption permit for press activities

For new applications and renewals:

• Please complete the online application.
• If you require a special permit for several of your vehicles, please enter the individual license plates in the "License plates" field.
• Once the online application has been received, a confirmation of receipt will be sent.
• If it is not possible for you to send us the required documents as file attachments, you can also send them by e-mail or post.
  
  • Please make sure that all your documents (number) can be clearly assigned to your application.
• If your documents have not reached us within 14 days of submitting your application, we will consider your application to be invalid.
  
  • In this case, you will not receive any further notification from us.
• After successful processing, you will receive the exemption permit by post.

More information

If an exemption permit is lost, a loss report must be completed and sent by e-mail or post.

• For new applications and renewals:
  
  • Copy of the registration certificate part I (fully unfolded)
  • Valid press card
  • Current proof of journalistic activity in the municipality of Bremen
• In the event of a vehicle change/license plate change:
  
  • Please submit a copy of the new registration certificate Part I (fully unfolded) and the original exemption permit.
  • The documents can be submitted by post or placed in our in-house letterbox.
• For vehicle abandonment:
  
  • Please return the original exemption permit to the responsible office.

• Citizens' portal for press activities
  The Citizens' Portal offers you the opportunity to submit your application for an exemption permit for press activities online. No registration is required to submit the application. You can attach supporting documents as PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG files to the application. Identification is based on the uploaded documents.

• Citizens' portal for radio and television recordings
  

The amount of the administration fee depends on the requested duration and the number of vehicles.
11,50 EUR for the replacement exhibition.
11,50 EUR for the license plate change.

What deadlines must be paid attention to?

Due to the tests required for this special permit, please submit the corresponding application at least 14 days in advance. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
14 days for the subsequent submission of documents.
The exemption permit is issued until January 31st of the following year, but for a maximum of 1 year. An extension is possible.
