The Chamber of Engineers of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is the competent body for the recognition of foreign engineering qualifications in accordance with Section 2a (2) of the Bremen Engineering Act (BremIngG). Assessment
The registration committee of the Bremen Chamber of Engineers checks whether these requirements are met and whether the foreign degree is equivalent to a German engineering degree. In this case, authorization to use the professional title "engineer" will be granted.

The basis for calculating the costs of the procedure for authorization to use the professional title "Ingenieurin" or "Ingenieur" in accordance with § 2 BremIngG is the fee schedule of the Chamber of Engineers of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in conjunction with the fee schedule in the currently valid version (lit. B number 7 a). A basic fee of EUR 350.00 is charged for processing an application for approval in accordance with Section 2 BremIngG. If a certificate evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education is enclosed with the application, a discount of EUR 100.00 will be granted. In this case, the fee is EUR 250.00.

How long does it take to process

Maximum 3 months after the documents are complete.
If necessary, the deadline can be extended once appropriately if this is justified due to the particularities of the matter. The extension of the deadline must be justified and communicated in good time.
The applicant may apply for a deadline extension themselves in order to obtain missing documents or to await an opinion from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
