Recognition of further education institutions according to the Bremen Further Education Act

Recognition under the Law on Further Education in the State of Bremen (WBG) corresponds to a seal of quality which further education institutions may use upon application and if certain conditions are met. It serves to secure and increase the quality of further education according to the Bremen Further Education Act and is therefore also in the sense of consumer protection.

Requirements

The criteria required by the state and to be met by the institutions are regulated in the Further Training Act and the implementing ordinance.

The criteria relate to legal, economic, organisational, spatial, factual, participant-oriented and subject-specific conditions, especially with regard to task-specific qualifications and continuous further training of full-time and part-time pedagogical staff. An essential component of recognition is proof of appropriate quality standards. The fulfilment of the recognition requirements must be confirmed by an independent expert opinion to be submitted by the applicant.
