What deadlines must be paid attention to?

6 months In the case of driving licences from a non-EU/EEA state, the entitlement to drive expires after 6 months from the establishment of residence in the Federal Republic of Germany. On application, the driving licence authority can extend the period by up to 6 months if the applicant can show credibly that he or she will not have normal residence in Germany for longer than 12 months.
