Procedure
- First, contact the main customs office by telephone to avoid waiting times.
- Citizens can also present themselves directly at the customs office, but must then accept waiting times for data reconciliation.
- After verification of the data and internal queries regarding the amount of tax due, citizens are forwarded by the main customs office ( Konsul-Smidt-Straße 29, 28217 Bremen ) to the payment office ( Hafenstraße 49, 28217 Bremen ).
- In the paying office, either an additional payment or a release will be made after prior, short-term transfer.
- Only then is a clearance certificate issued, which can be presented to the registration office.
