Would you like to extend your residence permit? 

 If you have been issued a residence permit by the Migration Office, you will receive a letter from the Migration Office before your residence permit expires asking you to submit the documents required for an extension. You will only be sent an appointment to extend your residence permit once all the documents have been received in full.

A temporary residence permit must be extended if you wish to stay in Germany beyond its expiry date. A personal visit to the Migration Office is required for the extension. To make the process as easy as possible for you, you will receive a request to submit the documents required for an extension before your residence permit expires. 

You must submit all the documents specified in the invitation letter by the specified deadline, as you must also prove that you meet the requirements for extending your residence permit. Otherwise, the residence permit cannot be extended.  

You will only be sent an appointment to extend your residence permit if all the documents are complete.
