Performa Nord is a public enterprise of the State of Bremen. The organisation provides services in the areas of human resources, finance, organisation and management. These services are provided as statutory duties, on behalf of the Senate, or on the basis of contracts with Bremen-based and supra-regional departments and institutions. Performa Nord’s statutory duties include, amongst other things, payroll accounting, allowances and pensions for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. On behalf of the Senate, the organisation operates, amongst other things, the Bremen Citizens’ Helpline, provides occupational health and safety support for Bremen’s institutions, and handles travel expense claims. In January 2022, the range of services was expanded to include the Bundesbau Bremen division, which provides advice and support to the federal government on construction matters.

The state-owned enterprise Performa Nord is divided into the following six business divisions:

A – Payroll / HR
Service Centre Responsible for the payroll processing of civil servants, employees and pensioners; this division also houses the HR Systems and Payment Processing Control Centre, the HR Service Centre for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and contract clients, the applicant management team, and the state programme “Perspektive Arbeit”.

B – Bremen Citizens’ Helpline and Citizen Services
Responsible for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen’s telephone-based citizen service and service centres within the nationwide 115 network, as well as the childcare fee service and appointment management for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

D – Federal Building Authority, Bremen
Responsible for managing all federal military properties in Bremen, Bremerhaven and Delmenhorst, as well as federal civilian properties in Bremen and Bremerhaven, in matters relating to building and construction.

F – Centre for Healthy Work of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen
Responsible in particular for ensuring occupational health and safety advice and support for Bremen’s institutions, as well as providing support with workplace design, workplace social counselling and health promotion.

P – Human Resources and Administrative Services
Responsible in particular for welfare benefits, allowances, compensation and liability matters, and the FHB’s Business Travel Service Centre.

Z – Performa
Central Function Responsible for the internal affairs of Performa Nord, covering quality and risk management, accounting, IT services, as well as human resources, organisation and general administration.
