Traffic update

Due to the construction work on Steubenstraße and the associated complete closure of the first railway underpass – including for pedestrians and cyclists – the Stresemannstraße Administrative Centre is not expected to be directly accessible from the Julius-Brecht-Allee stop (Line 1) until summer 2028. However, access is available via Gartenstadt Vahr, Insterburger Str.

Note for driving schools:
It is not necessary to book an appointment for driving schools to submit applications at the Driving Licence Authority’s office. Driving schools may also submit their learners’ applications by post (postal address: Bürgeramt – Fahrerlaubnisse –, Stresemannstr. 48, 28207 Bremen). When sending applications by post for the first time, please enclose a SEPA direct debit mandate for the collection of administrative fees or a crossed cheque. You can request application forms by calling (0421) 361-12435 or by emailing fuehrerscheinstelle@buergeramt.bremen.de. General information:
If you wish to exchange your old driving licence for the new card-style driving licence (EURO driving licence), or to apply for a replacement driving licence or an international driving licence, please contact, preferably, the

• BürgerServiceCenter-Mitte or
• BürgerServiceCenter-Nord

This is particularly useful when applying for replacement documents for lost or stolen documents, as you can apply for an identity card or passport and a new driving licence in a single visit to either the BSC-Mitte or BSC-Nord.
